University and College Courses

These university and college level courses introduce the performing arts and its curriculum materials in order to explore methods for teaching at the primary and junior grades. These courses teach teachers how to: prepare performing arts lessons for various levels, formulate objectives and sequence instruction for optimum learning, develop an inquiry based curriculum that encourages the child to partake in conceptual learning, encourage the creative potential of the child in dance, drama and music forms and evaluate the learning process of the child. These lecture-studio courses will also provide the student teacher with practical and theoretical information on methods of teaching creative and modern dance, drama, and movement education to children.
